So when I read stories about celebrities assaulting folks, I always wonder how the celebrity could let themselves get into that situation. Case in point, the Chicago Bears leading defensive back, Ricky Manning, has been charged with assaulting a man at Los Angeles Dennys. The news I read said he punched and kicked the man in the face until he lost consciousness. What the hell was he thinking? I have a feeling that whatever could have been said, it probably didn't warrant being beat unconscious. I hope he really learns that violence is not the answer.

Chicago Bears Brush Off Giants

What we really brushed off was that foolish loss to Miami. I’m glad our Bears didn’t let that faze them, though I have to admit I was perturbed at their being down 13-10 at the half.

The second half was a whole nother game, including Grossman throwing three TD passes. Coolest of all was Devin Hester, and I mean cool as a cucumber, grabbing the Giants’ field goal that didn’t quite make it and just watching them mosey off the field, leaving him to take off and run 108 yards for a touchdown. That tied a record the Bears’ Nathan Vasher set last year—all but impossible to beat the record: where would you run from, the locker room?

Da Bears are looking bigger than giants these days!

I Knew It Was Coming

The Bears’ perfect season was earned. It was no fluke. Still, I figured the odds on keeping the streak for 17 games…not good. What I expected, though, was a loss at Giants Stadium next week, or maybe in Foxboro at the hands of the New England Patriots.

So I knew a Chicago loss was coming. Just not in Chicago or delivered by the now 2-and-6 Miami Dolphins. Well, that’s just that much less pressure on the Bears on down the stretch. We can concentrate on the stats that really matter: the Ws.
