Confidence Can Take You Places
The Chicago Bears are hopeful for winning at least a divisional title in 2006. Our goals are set high, no just because a wild card team just won the Super Bowl, but because we know that when we play to our potential we are champs.
There are way too many question marks on this team to even think about the "SB" words. 1) Can Rex stay healthy for a whole season? I believe if he does it makes the offense better but if he doesn't we can't survive another year of backup bingo. Even with Rex making the offense better that leads to other questions. 2) What's going on with the running back possition? Thomas Jones is not going to give his job away. And you have a young kid in Cedric Benson who you drafted with a high pick who needs to se the field more this year. In my opinion you try to trade on of the two. (preferably Benson, the unseen product may have more value. If he busts you look like football gods for seeing that coming. If he turns into the second coming of Walter Payton, that's years down the road and at least right now you know what you have in Jones. Once Jones goes you can find a running back in almost any draft. 3) Can we get some help for the Moose? We need a number 2 and 3 wide reciever. Someone for Rex to throw to. Will Gage be that guy? What about Berrien? Will these two guys be better recievers with a better QB? Will Mark Bradley come back and continue where he left off? All questions that need to be addressed. At least though there are really almost no questions on D. With a defense like that you might be able to whisper the "SB" words. But we can't expect them to hold every team under 13 points because our offense is stuck in reverse. I guess just wait and see. Last year just like the 13-3 season the completely surpassed all expectations out of no where, just leaving all of us cheering, but also shaking our heads at the same time. (but in a good way this time.)
